Cala Capitán is the main cove of Cabo Roig, a 152-metre crescent of soft fine sand tucked below the headland. Playa de Cabo Roig has held a Blue Flag since 1992, and the calm, clear water makes it a favourite for snorkelling.
Above it stands the Torre de Cabo Roig, a cylindrical 16th-century watchtower (a protected Bien de Interés Cultural) once used to warn of pirate raids. The marina and the well-known Cabo Roig restaurant strip are right alongside.
