Why sun & pool here
The Costa Blanca south is warm when everywhere else isn't.
Orihuela Costa sits far enough south that October still means pool weather and November is still mild. The shoulder seasons (September through May) are genuinely good here, not just marketed as such.
Our stays are set up for exactly this kind of trip: terraces for morning coffee, shared or private pools, easy access to the coast. Nothing that needs booking six months ahead.
Why it works for sun & pool

Sample trips
Seven days. Zero agenda. One good week.
A rough shape for a sun and pool week based at one of our stays. Adjust freely: the whole point is that nothing needs adjusting.
Barely leave the terrace: the pool at the centre of the day, the beach only when you fancy a change.
- Day 1
Arrive and settle in. A short run to Los Dolses market for the week’s basics, then a first evening on the terrace. The only plan today is no plan.
- Day 2
A slow pool morning. Late-afternoon dip at Playa Flamenca, five minutes away, then dinner in.
- Day 3
A pure pool day: a long lunch on the terrace, a book, and nowhere to be.
- Day 4
A change of scene at the cove at Cabo Roig, then dinner along the Cabo Roig strip as the sun drops.
- Days 5–7
Find your rhythm: pool mornings, beach afternoons, and an easy evening or two around La Zenia Boulevard.
A different stretch of sand each day: coves, promenades and long lunches by the water.
- Day 1
Settle in, then an easy first swim at Playa Flamenca to find your feet.
- Day 2
The promenade and open sand at La Zenia, with lunch and a wander around La Zenia Boulevard after.
- Day 3
The cove and cliff-top path at Cabo Roig, then dinner on the Cabo Roig strip.
- Day 4
Further up the coast to Punta Prima for a change of pace.
- Days 5–7
Quieter sand at Mil Palmeras, pool days in between, and the beaches you liked best a second time.
Shoulder-season warmth at half speed: late starts, long lunches, and the pool mostly to yourself.
- Day 1
Arrive and do nothing in particular. An evening stroll and a quiet dinner nearby.
- Day 2
Coffee on the terrace, an hour by the pool, then a gentle swim at Playa Flamenca.
- Day 3
A leisurely lunch on the Cabo Roig strip with the sea in front of you.
- Days 4–5
Pool, book, repeat, with a market run to Los Dolses market for fresh supplies.
- Days 6–7
One last cove swim at Cabo Roig before a slow pack-up.

Practical things
Common questions.
The shared pool at El Galan is available year-round and the climate here is genuinely warm well into autumn and from early spring. High summer is hottest, but September, October, April and May are reliably good pool weather. Mid-winter swimming is bracing rather than balmy - but the sun is usually out.
Yes - El Galan is air-conditioned for summer and heated for the cooler months. We'll confirm the exact set-up for any other stay when you book.
The Orihuela Costa beaches and coves - Playa Flamenca, Cabo Roig and others - are a short drive from our stays. We'll give you exact directions and our favourite spots when you book.
Orihuela Costa is residential and relaxed rather than a nightlife destination. El Galan sits in a quiet building with a pool shared by a small number of residents - the pace is deliberately slow. If you're after late-night clubbing, the bigger resorts further north are a better fit.
